Changes

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has made changes to the BICON Confectionery case.

The import conditions for confectionery goods have been clarified:

• There are no alternative conditions (i.e. alternative to an import permit) in the Biosecurity (Conditionally Non-prohibited Goods) Determination 2021 specific to confectionery. Consequently all confectionery must meet alternative conditions for each ingredient or apply for a permit.

Importers of confectionery goods, Biosecurity Imports Support Team, Pathway Operations Cargo - Assessment and Inspections.
