For the import of meat jerky and biltong, please refer to the BICON case Jerky. Please note that this case only applies to the meat component of composite products. If you are importing a composite product, you must search BICON for each individual ingredient to determine the conditions that apply.

This case describes the requirements for the importation of highly refined organic chemicals and substances for all uses other than as animal foods, fertilisers or for growing purposes. This case includes items such as acetone, alcohols, amino acids, varnish, sulphur compounds, dyes, insecticides or paraffin. The only products derived from a fermentation process covered by this case are: alcohols, vitamins and amino acids.
