Fish viscera for human consumption Alerts

This case describes the requirements for the importation of fish viscera for human consumption only, including fish maw. Fish maw is the swim bladder, gas bladder or air bladder of a fish which has undergone a drying stage. Fish viscera includes all other internal organs of the fish as well as swim bladders that have not been dried. This case describes the requirements for the importation of bony fish and cephalopods that have been sourced for the purpose of commercial fishing or use as feed in aquaculture systems. Bony fish includes any member within taxonomic group ‘Osteichthyes’, and excludes sharks and rays. Cephalopods include octopus, squid, cuttlefish and nautilus.
