Risk background: Insect risk associated with Medicago seed
Effective 18 January 2019There is a risk of importing Bruchid insects (seed weevils) with Medicago seed from the Mediterranean area and it is virtually impossible to detect infestation by visual inspection. Consequently all Medicago seed imported from Mediterranean countries is subject to mandatory fumigation with methyl bromide.
