Uncooked prawns: Batches that test positive to WWSV and/or YHV1
Effective 6 September 2023Batches returning a positive test result from the original testing laboratory
- Where batches return a positive test result for WSSV or YHV1 at the original testing laboratory, the permit holder must request one of the following actions for the management of the positive batches within 5 business days of being notified of the positive test result:
1.1. Retest the original samples at the Australian Centre of Disease Preparedness (ACDP).
1.2. Export
1.3. Disposal
1.4. Following approval in writing from a biosecurity officer, further processing at a class 3 AA approved to treat prawns.
Batches returning a negative re-test result from ACDP
- Batches that return a negative test result for WSSV and YHV1, must remain subject to biosecurity control and must not be moved from the class 2.5 AA until a release notice has been issued by a biosecurity officer.
Batches returning a positive re-test result from ACDP
- Where batches return a positive re-test result for WSSV or YHV1 at ACDP, the permit holder must request one of the following actions for the management of the positive batches within 5 business days of being notified of the positive test result:
1.1. Export
1.2. Disposal
1.3. Following approval in writing from a biosecurity officer, further processing at a class 3 AA approved to treat prawns.
