Risk background: Low risk animal food ingredients
Effective 1 October 2020Highly processed plant or microbial derived products (eg. refined gums, flours, enzymes, sugars, amino acids) can be used for multiple purposes including animal or human food. In general these products are of a low biosecurity risk, however, animal feed grade products are often of a lower quality than human feed grade products and potentially pose a higher biosecurity risk.
