Requirement: Manufacturing/processing details required to accompany an import permit application

Effective 7 April 2020 to 2 October 2021

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment requires the applicant to provide the following manufacturing/processing details for the assessment of the permit application:

  1. If the product contains plant material, the details of the country of origin, botanical names (essential), common names (optional), plant parts used (e.g. roots, leaves, flowers) and the form the plant material is in (e.g. fresh or dried).

  2. If the product is mechanically processed and details of the process, for example crushing or grinding (if applicable).

  3. Preparation details, such as boiled in water at a specified temperature for a specified duration (if applicable).

  4. Bleaching details, including chemical name; chemical concentration; process; any temperature and duration involved (if applicable).

  5. Cleaning methods, including chemical names; chemical concentration; any temperature and duration involved (if applicable).

  6. Drying and/or heating details, including specified temperatures and duration's involved (if applicable).

  7. Disposal details of leftover waste products (if applicable).

  8. Any other details that demonstrate that the goods have been processed to a high quality product.

Details are not limited to these examples and applicants are encouraged to provide further information if available.

Note: Separate information must be submitted for each product on the permit application.
