Changes to high-risk khapra beetle cases for personal use, travellers and mail pathways

Effective from 19 December 2024

The department has modified the BICON cases for high-risk khapra beetle imports using the 'personal use' pathway. These changes include:

  • removal of outdated information in the warning label and places still current information into the import conditions
  • addition of destruction as an outcome for goods arriving via mail or travellers
  • removal of warning from onshore outcomes.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of products for personal use, subject to high-risk khapra beetle import conditions, arriving via international mail or travellers pathways and mail and travellers Inspections staff.
