Changes to the 'Unretorted meat' BICON case
Effective from 22 November 2024The department has amended import conditions for beef from Japan.
- Updated import conditions have been developed for bovine beef from Japan.
- Import conditions do not require Japan to be a country approved by the Australian Director of Biosecurity as free from lumpy skin disease.
- Import conditions can be found in the 'Unretorted meat' BICON case by selecting 'Bovine (e.g. beef) excluding New Zealand' and then selecting 'Japan'.
Individual import permit holders have been contacted to advise them of on ongoing arrangements for their import permits.
