Change to import conditions for bovine embryos from the United Kingdom

Effective from 16 October 2024

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has published updated import conditions for in vivo bovine embryos from the United Kingdom in response to updates to the agreed health certificate. The import permit conditions have been modelled to match the format of the agreed health certificate.

The update notably includes the addition of RT-PCR as a testing option for bovine pestivirus (bovine viral diarrhoea virus).

Importers of bovine embryos from the United Kingdom, Veterinary and Export Meat Branch, Client Contact Group and brokers.
