Changes to the import conditions on the standard permit for dairy products

Effective from 30 May 2024

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has made a change to the standard permit for bovine dairy products from approved countries.

  • The health certificate conditions for the country of manufacture have been aligned with the non-standard permits.
  • The health certificate is required to indicate the country/ies of manufacture of the goods.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of dairy and dairy products, Biosecurity Imports Support Team, Pathway Operations Cargo - Assessment and Inspections.

Background:
Lack of the requirement to list the country/ies of manufacture in standard permits was inconsistent with other dairy permits. This can cause incorrect health certificates to be provided resulting in clearance issues. Having consistent conditions for all types of dairy permits will help avoid such issues.
