Updates to information notice for 10% (or greater) dairy in cooked items

Effective from 27 February 2024

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has made changes to the BICON information notice for the following items imported for non-personal use:

  • Biscuits, breads, pastries or cakes containing 10% uncooked egg or 10% uncooked dairy (or greater).
  • Cheesecakes (cooked and uncooked).
  • Other (including lava and custard mooncakes)

To streamline the application process and to ensure that importers are reviewing the current import conditions for dairy, the information notice now advises importers of cooked items that contain 10% uncooked dairy (or greater) and cheesecakes containing greater than 10% dairy to refer to the commodity case Dairy.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of Cooked items (biscuits, breads, pastries, cakes), mooncakes, egg waffles and uncooked cheesecakes, Biosecurity Imports Support Team, Pathway Operations Cargo - Assessment and Inspections
