Addition of Photinia undulata as a permitted seed species

Effective from 28 February 2024

Photinia undulata is now included as a permitted seed species for import, subject to all import conditions outlined within BICON.

Background:
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has completed a review of taxonomy for Stranvaesia species, which are currently permitted for import as seeds and nursery stock. The review identified that Photinia undulata is the accepted name of Stranvaesia davidiana var. undulata and Stranvaesia undulata, both of which are already included as permitted species within the case.
