Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid deregulation in tomato seed for sowing

Effective from 12 March 2024

The department has removed specific testing requirements for Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid on tomato seed for sowing. PCR testing for Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid is no longer a requirement for import of tomato seed for sowing.

Variation of import permits
The department has contacted affected permit holders and has varied import permits for tomato seed for sowing in line with these changes.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers (and their customs brokers) of tomato seed for sowing and department staff.
