New BICON pathways for goods exported from France and the UK and Northern Ireland

Effective from 30 September 2023

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has separated the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland import conditions from the European Union member state import conditions for the following BICON cases:

  • Bovine semen
  • Bovine embryos
  • Goat semen
  • Goat embryos
  • Ovine semen
  • Sheep embryos

Additionally, France has negotiated a bilingual version of the veterinary health certificate for bovine semen. This certification has been added to BICON separately to the general European Union member state conditions. Applications for import permits for bovine semen from France will now need to be lodged separately to those exporting from the remainder of the European Union member states.
