Inactivation of China longan and lychee pre-shipment cold treatment pathways

Effective from 3 March 2023

Longan and Lychee from China can only be imported using in-transit cold treatment. Cold treatment must be performed according to the approved schedule listed in BICON.

Pre-shipment cold treatment may be reinstated in the future if sufficient information is provided to the department.

The import conditions remain visible for information purposes only.

Who does this notice affect:
This notice affects importers and brokers of fresh longan and lychee for human consumption (from China), and Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and Inspections.
