Changes

The department has created a new standard permit for Environmental samples for laboratory analysis (culture and isolation not permitted). The standard permit covers a range of samples such as soil, water, sediment, dust, and filters used on these samples.

The samples must be directed to an approved arrangement (AA) site class 5.11 or higher, however importers will not be required to elect specific AA sites where the goods will be used.

The new standard permit is expected to reduce processing times for importers of environmental samples.
