Changes to the BICON commodity cases Retorted goods and Salmonid fish for human consumption

Effective from 26 October 2023

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has made changes to the Retorted goods BICON case and discontinued the Fish roe and caviar BICON case.

Import conditions for fish roe and caviar have been moved to the following BICON commodity cases:
For fish roe and/or caviar from non-salmonid species of fish:

  • Fish including fish caviar, fish roe, fish viscera and fish maw (excluding salmonid fish)

For fish roe and/or caviar from salmonid species of fish:

The case Fish roe and caviar has been removed from BICON.

The BICON case: Salmonid fish for human consumption has also been amended:

  • The product description has been revised to remove reference to goods not included in the case (this will avoid redundant search results)
  • pathways have been streamlined
  • links to alternative BICON commodity cases have been added.
