Changes

The department has developed a new pathway for ‘Bulk ingredients for use in the manufacture of cosmetics for animal use only’. A permit is required to import these goods, which can be obtained by submitting an import permit application to the department (if viewed online, use the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of the BICON case).

In addition to the new pathway, the following updates have been made:

• The 'Cosmetics or bulk ingredients to manufacture cosmetics for animals' pathway has been updated to 'Cosmetics for animals (commercially prepared and retail packaged)'.
• The 'Bulk ingredients for use in the manufacture of cosmetics' pathway has been updated to 'Bulk ingredients for use in the manufacture of cosmetics for human use only'.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of cosmetics and soaps, brokers, Pathway Operations Cargo - Assessment and Inspections and biosecurity staff.
