Suspension of import conditions for Camellia sinensis seed for sowing

Effective from 8 July 2023

Import conditions for Camellia sinensis seed for sowing have been suspended due to inactivity (no recent trade). This pathway will require a review of import conditions against associated biosecurity risks. A review of import conditions may be conducted by the department upon request, subject to resource availability and prioritisation within the department’s existing work program.

This applies to imports from all countries.

Import permits:
No import permits are affected by this change.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of Camellia sinensis seed for sowing and department staff.
