Update to Zantedeschia spp. dormant bulbs onshore inspections

Effective from 18 April 2023

The department has reviewed the conditions for Zantedeschia spp. dormant bulbs produced under a systems approach after detections of previously unassessed pathogens of concern. To manage the biosecurity risk of diseased dormant tubers, importers are being notified that if disease symptoms or contamination is identified during the on-arrival inspection, consignments will be held pending identification.

Who does this affect:
Importers of Zantedeschia dormant tubers produced under a systems approach in New Zealand, the Netherlands or the USA, brokers and Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and Inspection.
