Changes

The department has developed a new standard permit 'Sediment and related samples from the sea or ocean floor'.

The new standard permit will allow samples sourced from the benthic zones of oceans or seas within the neritic or oceanic zones, excluding intertidal zones (including estuaries), aquaculture sites and inland seas, to be imported outside of an approved arrangement. The goods must undergo an approved treatment either prior to, or immediately following import.

Who does this notice affect:
Applicants, brokers and importers of laboratory goods, biosecurity staff and Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and Inspection.
