Changes

The department has made changes to the landing page of the commodity case 'Starter cultures (and derivatives)'.

• Import conditions have not changed.
• The list of additional microorganisms that are considered to be within the approved starter culture Lactobacillus genus have been added to the landing page. This will provide clarity for importers, as these additional microorganisms are not currently included in the legislated list of approved starter cultures.
• The list of approved starter cultures has been moved to the department’s webpage instead of an annex in the BICON case.

Importers of approved starter cultures (and derivatives), biosecurity staff, Pathway Operations Cargo - Assessments and Inspections.
