Changes
Removal of the security declaration requirement for purity tested or treated seed from all countries
Effective from 3 August 2022The import conditions have been updated to remove the requirement for a supplier’s security declaration, to certify that:
"All care has been taken post-sampling to maintain the security of the following seed lot(s): (supplier to list botanical name and the marks of each seed lot)."
The department has determined that commercial seed handling practices and phytosanitary security requirements of an exporting country are sufficient for maintaining consignment integrity and preventing contamination after testing or treatment.
No other changes have been made to import conditions.

Relevant import permits will be amended to remove the supplier’s security declaration. Permit holders will be notified prior to the amendment and will not incur any fees or charges for the amendment.
