Amended labelling requirements for fresh ginger from Fiji for human consumption

Effective from 30 September 2022

Labelling requirements have been amended for fresh ginger from Fiji for human consumption. This amendment is to make labelling requirements consistent with other import pathways.

Where requirements previously read:

  1. Product name
  2. Date of packing
  3. Name or registration reference for the fumigator/facility (for pre-shipment fumigated consignments)
  4. Date of fumigation (for pre-shipment fumigated consignments)
  5. Packhouse registration number
  6. Packing facility name or the Fijian NPPO reference code
  7. Name of the exporting company.

They now read:

  1. Product name
  2. Date of packing
  3. Exporting company name
  4. Grower registration name and / or number
  5. Treatment facility registration name and / or number
  6. Packhouse registration name and / or number

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of fresh ginger from Fiji, brokers and Assessment Services Group.
