Removal of Arabis mosaic virus as a quarantine pest of Humulus spp. (hops) nursery stock

Effective from 15 October 2022

The purpose of this notification is to advise stakeholders that the post-entry quarantine requirements for Humulus spp. (hops) nursery stock have been amended.

Arabis mosaic virus is no longer considered to meet the definition of a quarantine pest as it is present in Australia but not under official control. Accordingly, imported Humulus spp. for use as nursery stock will no longer be tested for the presence of ArMV during the post-entry quarantine period.

All other import conditions remain in place, including the requirement for consignments to be accompanied with a valid import permit.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of Humulus spp. for use as nursery stock, brokers and department staff.
