Changes

The department has approved a new laboratory, AgEtal Pty Ltd located in Queensland, to perform seed purity analysis on seed that has been imported into Australia.

The list of department approved seed testing laboratories in Australia has been updated to include the following laboratory:

Import permits:
Seed species that require an import permit:

• Existing import permits will not be varied to include the new laboratory, unless specifically requested by an import permit holder.
• All new permits will be issued with the new laboratory included.

Seed species that do not require an import permit:

• Certificates issued by the above laboratory will be accepted by the department immediately.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of seed for sowing, importers of seed for human consumption, their brokers, Client Contact Group and Biosecurity Cargo Operations (Assessment and Inspections).
