Changes to the Fresh longan and lychee for human consumption case

Effective from 1 October 2022

The department has implemented several changes for the fresh longan and lychee for human consumption case. This change includes:

  1. Separate cases for longan and lychee,
  2. reformatting of conditions outlining specific pre shipment and in-transit cold treatment requirements for China,
  3. a new additional declaration on the phytosanitary certificate for in-transit cold treated longan and lychee from China,
  4. removal of orchard control from the Thailand lychee pathway and
  5. the inclusion of a new element and procedure within the irradiated longan and lychee pathways. This procedure is for actioning pest interceptions at inspection on irradiated pathways only.

This notice affects Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and Inspections, Importers of fresh longan and lychee and Operational Science Services (OSS).
