Structural changes made to pathways and import conditions for oysters

Effective from 13 August 2022

On 13 August 2022 the following changes were published to the ‘Seafood (excluding finfish) for human consumption’ BICON case:

  • Several pathways have been consolidated to increase ease of navigation in BICON.
  • The pathways for New Zealand oysters arriving in half shell have been consolidated. Import conditions for half shell oyster arriving in a frozen state and those for half shell oysters arriving chilled (previously frozen) are now co-located as different options in the same pathway.
  • Import conditions in all pathways have been restructured and reformatted to increase ease of navigation in BICON.
  • Imports are not expected to be affected. These changes are structural only and support the departments on-going commitment to the effective communication of Australia’s import conditions.
