Fresh stone fruit for human consumption

Effective from 24 March 2022

The department has updated the secure consignment options for fresh nectarines, apricots, peaches and plums from China resulting from a review and communication to the exporting NPPO. If a mesh screen is used as part of a secure consignment option, the pore size is now required to be no more than 0.98 mm diameter. This change has been made in accordance with the Final pest risk analysis report for Drosophila suzukii.

This notice affects importers of fresh nectarines, apricots, peaches and plums from China, brokers and Pathway Operations Cargo - Assessment.
