Change to import conditions for egg and egg products for human consumption

Effective from 26 April 2022

From 26 April 2022 an import permit is no longer required for:

  • egg and egg products from New Zealand,
  • lysozyme,
  • noodles and pasta containing 10% egg or greater.

Please note that import conditions will continue to apply, please search the relevant BICON case(s) to view the conditions.

Background:
The Biosecurity (Prohibited and Conditionally Non-Prohibited Goods) Determination is regularly amended to ensure that import conditions are clear and consistent, are commensurate with biosecurity risk, and facilitate trade.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of egg products for human consumption (which contain 10% or greater egg), Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and/or Inspections.
