Changes

The department has completed an assessment for Vaccinium constablaei, that has confirmed this name as an accepted synonym for Vaccinium corymbosum (commonly known as blueberry). As a result of this assessment, Vaccinium constablaei has been added to BICON as an accepted scientific name.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers (and their customs brokers) who wish to import Vaccinium constablaei for sowing or as nursery stock.

Import permits:
Current import permits for Vaccinium constablaei will not be updated to reflect this change. Importers wishing to import material using ‘Vaccinium constablaei’ will need to apply for a permit variation to include this scientific name.
