Changes

This notice is to inform industry that the Department of Agriculture (the department) has clarified the existing requirements for the import of cheese and butter.

The changes provide clarity regarding the ‘No composite products’ definition, which is part of the standard cheese and butter permit conditions.

Furthermore, the import conditions are now aligned with those currently displayed on the Dairy BICON case.

Who does this notice affect:

This notice is of interest to importers of cheese and butter products, and associated industry participants and retailers.

Background:

Due to the import of composite cheese products under these import conditions, it is necessary for the department to provide further explanation about what can and cannot be imported using these conditions.
