Fencing, screening material and blinds derived from plants

Effective from 17 December 2019

Structural changes have been made to the BICON case 'Fencing, screening material and blinds derived from plants' to improve readability and flow:

  • Salix spp. fencing will be directed to the BICON case Dried willow and wicker articles.

  • The order of the import conditions has changed in some pathways, ensuring that requirements for an import permit are displayed first.

Inspection requirements have been amended to reduce inconsistencies in inspection processes for different types of goods and to ensure the potential for biosecurity risk material to enter Australia is managed.

Onshore inspection requirements for:

  • FCL with onshore treatment with ethylene oxide, gamma irradiation or heat treatment (85 for 8 hours) have been amended from full unpack to verification inspections.

  • FCL of Calluna vulgaris and Baeckea frutscens for some onshore treatment options have been changed to a full unpack inspection.
