Plant species requiring further assessment

Effective from 14 August 2020

Agave impressa has been added to the ‘Plants species requiring further assessment’ case.

The department has completed a Weed Risk Assessment of Agave impressa. It found that more information is required to complete the assessment; therefore, this species has been added to the BICON case 'Plant species requiring further assessment'.

This species is not permitted entry into Australian territory until additional information is made available for assessment regarding its ability to propagate vegetatively, generative time, response to fire and seed dormancy.

Who does this notice affect:

Importers of seed and nursery stock, brokers, Inspections Group and Assessment Services Group.
