Truffles for human consumption

Effective from 17 March 2020

Five species of permitted frozen or dried truffle have been added to the Truffles for human consumption BICON case:

  • Mattirolomyces terfezioides (Hungarian honey truffle)

  • Kalapuya brunnea (synonym: Leucangium brunneum) (Oregon brown truffle)

  • Leucangium carthusianum (Oregon black truffle)

  • Tuber gibbosum (Oregon spring white truffle)

  • Tuber oregonense (Oregon winter white truffle).

Additionally, the Oregon black truffle species Leucangium brunneum (synonym: Leucangium carthusianum) has been updated to:

  • Leucangium carthusianum (Oregon black truffle)

  • Kalapuya brunnea (synonym: Leucangium brunneum) (Oregon brown truffle).

Who does this notice affect:

Importers of dried or frozen truffle for human consumption, Inspections Group, Assessment Services Group and Client Contact Group Canberra.
