Changes

Fresh berries for human consumption

Effective from 13 February 2020

The department is incorporating fresh blueberries from New Zealand onto the Compliance-Based Intervention Scheme (CBIS). This change is scheduled to take effect from 13 February 2020.

What does this mean for my imports?

In order to support this change you will be required to lodge consignments from New Zealand with the following AQIS Commodity Codes (ACC):

  • for fresh blueberry consignments being inspection on-arrival, you must apply the ACC: BLUE

  • for consignments being processed offshore under the Offshore Pre-Shipment Inspection (OPI) program, you must apply the ACC: OPIN

Please note that if you do not lodge consignments with the appropriate code then your entry may remain unprocessed or become ineligible for CBIS.

More information on CBIS, including the risk-based intervention rates can be found on the departments CBIS webpage [https://www.agriculture.gov.au/import/goods/plant-products/risk-return].
