Animal Transport Equipment

Effective from 19 December 2018

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has removed all Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) content from Animal transport equipment.

For BMSB seasonal measures, importers should refer to the new BMSB hitchhiker pest BICON case.

Who does this notice affect

Importers animal transport equipment, Inspection Services Group and Assessment Services Group

Background

To manage the risk of BMSB, the department has developed a new BMSB hitchhiker pest BICON case. This case outlines the seasonal measures that apply to certain goods (target high risk and target risk goods) shipped as sea cargo on or between 1 September 2018 to 30 April 2019 (inclusive).

The BMSB measures are in addition to existing import requirements for goods. You are still required to refer to the relevant BICON commodity case for commodity specific import conditions (if applicable).
