Dietary supplements and natural medicines of plant origin for human consumption

Effective from 16 November 2018

Import conditions for dried Trametes versicolour have been moved from the ‘Dietary supplements and natural medicines of plant origin for human consumption’ case to the Dried mushroom – Other than restricted medicinal species – Permitted species pathway within the ‘Mushrooms for human consumption’ case.

Who does this notice affect:

Importers of products containing dried Trametes versicolour for human consumption or human therapeutics.

Background:

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources recently revised the ‘Mushrooms for human consumption’ case to incorporate an increased range of mushroom goods, including dried Trametes versicolour. Moving dried Trametes versicolour from the ‘Dietary supplements and natural medicines of plant origin for human consumption’ also avoids issues arising from mushrooms not being of plant origin.
