The following species have been removed from the BICON case ‘Bulbs to be grown in open quarantine for use as nursery stock’ following a review of species listings in BICON:

  • Babiana flabellifolia
  • Babiana framesii
  • Babiana gawleri
  • Babiana klaverensis
  • Babiana longibracteata
  • Babiana mucronata
  • Babiana occidentalis
  • Babiana odorata
  • Babiana sambucina
  • Babiana scabrifolia
  • Babiana spathacea
  • Babiana stellata
  • Babiana thunbergii
  • Babiana truncata
  • Babiana vanzyliae
  • Babiana undulato-venosa

No other changes have been made to import conditions for "Bulbs to be grown in open quarantine for use as nursery stock'.

No import permits are affected by this change.

Background:
The species listed above are listed in the BICON case ‘Plant species that are weeds’ and are currently not permitted entry as there is a high risk of these species becoming weeds in Australia.
