Preserved fruit, vegetables or seaweed for human consumption

Effective from 16 March 2021

Following a review, conditions in the ‘Preserved fruit and vegetables for human consumption’ case have been expanded to include preserved or aseptically packaged seaweed (red, green and brown macroalgae) for human consumption.
Seaweed which has been preserved or pickled by an acceptable method, or canned or aseptically packaged, can be imported using the conditions in this case.
The case name has been updated to ‘Preserved fruit, vegetables or seaweed for human consumption’.

This notice affects importers of preserved seaweed, brokers, Assessment Services Group and Inspections Group.
