Inclusion of import conditions for fresh date fruit from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Morocco

Effective from 15 July 2021

Import conditions have been added to BICON for the importation of fresh date fruit for human consumption from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Morocco.

The new conditions have been added following the publication of the Final Report for the review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh dates from the Middle East and North Africa region in 2019.

The import conditions have been developed based on the standard commercial production practices and packing procedures. Fresh date fruit from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Morocco are also required to undergo a phytosanitary inspection and in-transit cold treatment.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of dates from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Morocco, brokers, and Assessment Services Group.
