Grape vine articles

Effective from 21 December 2017

What has changed?

The Biosecurity (Prohibited and Conditionally Non-Prohibited Goods) Determination 2016 has been amended to allow grape vine articles to be imported into Australia without requiring an import permit. The legislative changes are effective from 21 December 2017.

The BICON case for grapevine articles has been amended accordingly, with the following changes:

  1. Removal of the need for a permit.

  2. Gamma Irradiation at 25 kGy added as pre-shipment treatment option.

  3. Outlining specific processing and treatment requirements

Importers intending to import these goods are reminded to review the associated case to ensure that they can comply with current conditions.
