Oak barrels and chestnut bark hoops

Effective from 21 December 2017

What has changed?

The Biosecurity (Prohibited and Conditionally Non-Prohibited Goods) Determination 2016 has been amended to allow oak barrels with chestnut hoops to be imported into Australia without requiring an import permit. The legislative changes are effective from 21 December 2017.

The BICON case for Oak Barrels with Chestnut hoops has been amended accordingly. No other changes have been made to the import conditions.

Importers intending to import these goods are reminded to review the associated case to ensure that they can comply with current conditions.
