Peanuts for human consumption or processing

Effective from 13 September 2017

What has changed?


The following changes will be made to blanched peanuts from Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil pathway for all arrival modes except for passengers and mail arrival mode.

  • Inspection at AA class 2.2 - If goods are not accompanied by the additional declaration required by the Australian government, it will be ok to have consignment inspected in an AA class 2.2 as well as 1.1 and 1.3.

  • Blanching declaration - The department will assess offshore blanching information and decide if the treatment is sufficient. The blanching details must be declared on a Manufacturer's declaration, Commercial invoice or Packing list. Such document (with the treatment statement) can be provided in lieu of the additional declaration required on a phytosanitary certificate.
