Xylella fastidiosa and Sudden Oak Death hosts for use as nursery stock

Effective from 4 July 2019

Ceratocystis spp. host genera (which includes Betula spp.) imported for nursery stock in a form other than tissue culture require active testing by culturing (or equivalent) for species of Ceratocystis.
Import conditions for these genera can be found in the BICON case ‘Xylella fastidiosa, Sudden Oak Death and Ceratocystis hosts for use as nursery stock’.

This applies to imports from all countries.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of Betula spp. for use as nursery stock, Inspections Group and Assessment Services Group.
