Changes

Banana fibre articles

Effective from 7 February 2018

What has changed?

The certificate requirements for ethylene oxide treatment has been corrected to be in line with current policy.

The case previously stated that a “fumigation certificate” was acceptable evidence of offshore ethylene oxide treatment. This has been corrected to reflect that the correct certificate is an Ethylene Oxide Treatment certificate. The requirements for this document provides linkages to the ethylene oxide providers’ scheme.

There are no other changes in conditions, and treatment will continue to need to be provided under the ethylene oxide providers’ scheme.

It is recommended that importers review the requirements if they intend to treat goods pre- shipment with ethylene oxide.
