Cooked fruit and vegetables for human consumption
Effective from 9 August 2019The existing Cooked fruit and vegetables for human consumption case only permitted cooked taro leaves as an ingredient of palusami. This change permits cooked taro alone as well as an ingredient of palusami. Visual inspection of both cooked taro leaves alone and as an ingredient of palusami is required.

Importers of cooked taro leaves for personal use, Assessment Services Group, Inspections Group
Background:
The department has assessed the biosecurity risks of cooked taro alone and palusami to be equivalent.
