Changes

Bioremedial products

Effective from 1 April 2017

This notice provides clients of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) notification of changes to bioremedial products containing only synthetic ingredients or where the only biologically-derived ingredients are department approved biological excipients

What is the change?

The bioremedial products pathway has been updated for products containing only synthetic ingredients or where the only biologically-derived ingredients are department approved biological excipients so the documentary requirements are in line with legislation and other commodities containing the same material.

Bioremedial products containing only synthetic material will need to meet the import requirements of the synthetic material BICON case.

Bioremedial products where the only biologically-derived ingredients are department approved biological excipients will need a manufacturer’s declaration attesting to this as per the case requirements.

What does this mean for my imports?

Bioremedial products, containing only synthetic ingredients or where the only biologically-derived ingredients are department approved biological excipients, imported after 11/05/2017 will be required to provide documentation as per the relevant BICON pathway.

Goods imported without correct supporting documentation will be held until documentation is supplied.
