Changes

Fresh cut flowers and foliage

Effective from 1 July 2019

An import permit application link and information notice has been added to the import conditions for cut flowers and foliage certified by Colombia, Ecuador and Kenya as produced using an NPPO-approved systems approach.

Who does this change affect?

Importers, approved arrangements, freight forwarders and brokers that deal with imported cut flowers and foliage.

Background:

From 1 September 2019, the department will require import permits for cut flowers and foliage certified by Colombia, Ecuador and Kenya as produced using an NPPO-approved systems approach.
Importers sourcing flowers from these countries can now apply for import permits. Submitting an application early will allow time for the department to assess the application and grant a permit for use from 1 September 2019.
Consignments imported from these countries prior to 31 August 2019 do not require import permits.
